Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get your money back for a purchase of Aether or any related paid offering from Umbral Audio, LLC. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service.
1. 14-day refund window
You may request a full refund of any Aether License within 14 days of the date of purchase, for any reason. Requests received after the 14th day are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
2. What happens when you refund
When a refund is approved:
- The full purchase amount is returned to the original payment method by the seller of record (Paddle).
- Your License is revoked server-side. The same License key cannot be used to activate Aether again.
- Any active installations of Aether tied to that License will deactivate the next time the Plugin checks in with our license server, which typically happens within minutes of being launched.
- You will be uninstalled from any beta program or update channel that the License entitled you to.
You agree not to continue using Aether under a refunded License.
3. Consumers in the EU and the United Kingdom
If you are a consumer located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU (and the UK's Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) of 14 days from the conclusion of the contract. Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or replaces that right.
Aether is delivered as digital content. By completing your purchase and downloading or activating Aether within the 14-day window, you expressly request that we begin supplying the digital content immediately and you acknowledge that, under Article 16(m) of the Directive, this may cause your right of withdrawal to lapse once supply has begun. We nevertheless honor a full 14-day refund as described in §1 above, which is more generous than the statutory minimum.
4. How to request a refund
You can request a refund in either of the following ways:
- Email billing@umbralaudio.com from the email address on your account, with your License key or order ID and a brief note that you would like a refund.
- Use the buyer's self-service portal provided by Paddle (link is included on your purchase receipt).
We aim to acknowledge refund requests within two business days.
5. Processing time
Once a refund is approved, the funds are returned by the seller of record. Most payment methods see the credit appear within 5–10 business days, though card networks and banks occasionally take longer. The original transaction and the refund will both appear on your statement.
6. Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a purchase, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback typically results in your License being revoked and your account being suspended pending resolution, even if the underlying issue could have been fixed by a simple refund or replacement.
